At Camp WA-RI-Ki, we continue to work hard to ensure our facilities, programs, and partnerships align with our mission to provide enriching outdoor experiences for all who visit. Over the past few weeks, we’ve made significant strides in improving our camp, strengthening our community, and preparing for future events.
Facility Upgrades: Officer Rooms & Labyrinth Improvements
My recent visits to camp have been truly inspiring as we’ve seen firsthand the incredible work done by Autumn and Geoff in upgrading the officer rooms. Their dedication to improving these spaces has created a more welcoming and functional environment for staff and guests alike. These upgrades are just part of our ongoing efforts to make Camp WA-RI-Ki a comfortable and inviting place for all who visit.
Additionally, we met with the installers of the labyrinth to ensure all necessary repairs and fixes were addressed. The labyrinth is a significant feature of our camp, offering a unique and reflective experience for visitors. Keeping it in top condition is a priority, and we appreciate the effort that has gone into making sure it remains a valuable resource for our community.
Preparing for New Groups & Strengthening Our Mission
Communication with our camp hosts has been key as we prepare for the arrival of new groups while phasing out those that no longer align with our camp’s mission. Our focus remains on providing an environment that fosters education, and outdoor exploration. Ensuring that our partnerships reflect these values is an essential step in maintaining the integrity and purpose of Camp WA-RI-Ki.
Fundraising & Community Support
Fundraising is an essential part of sustaining and growing our programs. I recently delivered fundraiser baskets in preparation for our upcoming Easter Egg Hunt and Fundraiser event. This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, support the camp, and enjoy a day of fun-filled activities. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who contributes to making this event a success!
Board Meetings & Administrative Work
Behind the scenes, our board continues to work diligently to keep operations running smoothly. Monthly board meetings have been filled with productive discussions, including reviewing contracts from county employees and rental agreements. Ensuring that these agreements are structured effectively allows us to provide the best possible experience for our visitors while maintaining the long-term sustainability of the camp.
As we move forward, we remain committed to enhancing our facilities, fostering meaningful partnerships, and creating opportunities for the community to engage with nature. Thank you to everyone who supports Camp WA-RI-Ki—your dedication and enthusiasm make all the difference!
Stay tuned for more updates, and we look forward to seeing you at camp soon!
