Job Announcement – Kiwanis Camp Wa-Ri-Ki Seeks Camp Director

Announcement: Are you passionate about environmental education, DEI, love working with children, teens, families, and schools and want to work in a beautiful outdoor setting?  If you are, then becoming our next Camp Director might be in your future!

We have an immediate opening for a Camp Director. The person in this role plays nice with others, knows how to share, is excited to learn new things, has a passion for teaching youth citizen science and would be an excellent role model delivering a variety of outdoor education experiences. Our Camp Director is skilled at developing community partners and can build positive working relationships with Staff, Board and Volunteers.

Our Mission and Programs

Kiwanis Camp Wa-Ri-Ki, located in Washougal, Skamania County, Washington is 18+ acres of beautiful land in the heart of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. It is our mission to provide an outdoor experience that offers optimal development of at-risk youth and our communities through recreational, educational and leadership opportunities. We offer programs in four areas: Nature-based Learning; Leadership and Personal Development; Fun, Exploration and Adventure and Outdoor Skills. Many camp activities integrate with local and national school STEM and STEAM curriculum standards.

This Place

The Southwest Region of Washington State reflects the ancestral and modern homes of First Peoples including the Cowlitz, Yakima, and Klickitat tribes. The First Peoples of Skamania County called themselves, Chilluckittequw. We acknowledge that we are on the ancestral, modern lands and traditional territories of the Chilluckittequw People.

Kiwanis Camp Wa-Ri-Ki encourages applicants to apply that represent the rich diversity of the communities we serve. This position will begin at approximately 24-30 hours per week. Salary will be prorated DOE and within an annual base range of $54,000 – $58,000.
