Each year, we get some troopers from the local Kiwanis Clubs to help us prepare for the season, but we can always use help as we grow our Day events and push on to fundraise to upgrade activities and the camp itself.  Contact us.  Meanwhile we’re retweeting some past stories so you can see where we’ve been while we get to where we’re going.

Camp hosts over 80 volunteers for Kiwanis One Day 2015 service.

Every year, Kiwanis organizations around the world unite for a very special event — Kiwanis One Day. One Day is an annual service day that occurs both nationally and internationally, with Kiwanis organizations everywhere planning local events to celebrate One Day.

Honoring the spirit of Kiwanis One Day, Camp Wa-Ri-Ki hosted a volunteer work day on April 11, 2015. The camp invited local community members, past renters, and members of the Division 44 Kiwanis clubs.

Over 80 people attended the event, including many members of the Lewis & Clark Young Marines. The youngest Marine was only 8 years old — just big enough to carry the rakes and tools!

Activities included cleaning the dorms, picking up winter debris around the grounds, and building new picnic tables for the camp. Even with rainy weather, smiles were abundant and spirits were high. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our volunteers, we were able to complete our tasks ahead of schedule.

The Lewis and Clark Young Marines worked tirelessly on projects throughout the day. Thank you all!

The camp was honored by the outpouring of support from volunteers and camp members, and thanks everyone for their dedication. We appreciate your ongoing commitment to making Camp Wa-Ri-Ki the best outdoors experience possible!

Mark your calendars now! Kiwanis One Day 2016 is on April 2, and Camp Wa-Ri-Ki will be hosting another volunteer event. All volunteers will be welcome at this fun event!
