As I reflect back over the last 12 months of 2024 I want to celebrate all of the accomplishments, wins and give ourselves the opportunity to fully appreciate all of the experiences and challenges both good and bad that we have encountered.
Our year in a nutshell..January thru April we spent our time upgrading buildings and installing our new swing set and challenge course.
We held our 3rd annual Eggcellent Easter Egg Hunt and had over 300 children attend! For me personally, this was our biggest 2024 accomplishment at camp. We started the Easter Egg Hunt in 2022 and had 7 children attend. To have so many local families attend in 2024 was incredible.
We hosted a Solar Eclipse field trip for our local 1st and 3rd graders. Spent an afternoon celebrating 5th graders graduating into middle school.
Our Nature Day in August allowed children and their families to truly get immersed in nature. Our guests had the opportunity to create self portraits out of flowers and foliage. They learned all about what macroinvertebrates are living in the Washougal River and completed a scavenger hunt that led them all over our beautiful 18 acre camp.
We added our first ever Haunted Dorms Walk and Halloween celebration. We are looking forward to growing this event in 2025 along with our Harvest Festival.
Having such a diverse camp is something that I truly love. The opportunity to experience guests, cultures, traditions, foods and friendship with people from all over the world is a life changing experience.
Kiwanis Camp Wa-Ri-Ki is a positive, outdoor environment that allows both young and old to experience a wide range of ideas, experiences, increased activity and problem solving skills.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our events in 2025.
